Using Social Media in Network Marketing

If you want to excel in your business and you want new ways to really get in front of as many people as you can and show them the opportunity, you better not be using the old ways to do so. If you are not sure what the old ways are here is a list:
cold calling
using the phone book to call people
leaving flyers on cars in parking lots
walking neighborhoods ringing doorbells
hosting parties

So, if you are wondering what the ‘new’ ways to get in front of people are, the answer is simple. First, you should have a blog. Second, you should be using facebook and other social media sites to brand yourself.
If you have never written a blog, don’t know how to write, or don’t know what blog means, thats ok. Basically, a blog is a personal website that gets updated daily with new articles, journal entries, and thoughts. You should be using your blog to provide industry and company/product specific information to your prospects without making them feel sold. Build a relationship with the followers you have on your blog, and make sure they can leave comments too. You want as much dialog and discussion surrounding your topics, and you want people to feel they are a part of a community. Make sure your blog gives your followers a change to ‘opt-in’ to your email, or more information from you. This is your chance to contact them about the specific opportunity you want them to hear.
Next, whether you like it or not, social media is here to stay. Facebook and Twitter have close to 100 million members each. You can also use YouTube, Linkedin, and other free membership sites that have groups of people that are interested in what you offer. Make sure you aren’t airing your dirty laundry on your posts. Keep everything professional, clean and fun. You want everyone watching you to admire your class, but you also want to stay real. You may not realize who sees what you post, you watches you daily, and who looks forward to what you have to say. Social media gives you a chance you brand yourself. When people feel that they know, like and trust you, they are much more likely to do business with you, and they are much more likely to give you referrals. One side not about social sites: these sites can drain your time and energy! Make sure you set aside a specific amount of time and hold yourself accountable to not get dragged into drama, gossip, photo-surfing, etc. Use the site to your advantage, not your disadvantage!
When you use today’s newest ways to market your business, you need to be real and have fun!  The more fun you have, and the more fun your team has, the more likely everyone is to stay loyal and work hard toward their own personal success. If you play your cards right, you will become a well known expert in your own niche, and have followers that look forward to what you have to say. Before you know it, your success will be growing and you will be soaring in your network marketing business!
