How to Use a Blog and Opt-In Page
The typical network marketer has exhausted his warm market and is in search of the best way to generate leads. A blog is a great way for a network marketer to avoid purchasing leads, and instead generate his own. The truth is, many people will become your followers if you offer valuable information, but many people ‘slip up’ by forgetting to include an opt-in page for their visitors. An opt-in page is a small form that requires a visitor to enter their information (i.e. name and email address) in exchange for a piece of information they are looking for. The most common information is in the form of a report or ebook.
Without an opt-in page, you are offering information to prospects, building your brand, and doing much work without giving your prospect a call to action. The form is very easy to add onto your blog, however there are tricks and ways successful marketers have used the opt-in page that are proven to work. If the tips and tricks are followed, the opt-in page will generate leads for the marketer as anticipated.
Tips/Tricks to Follow:
make sure the opt-in page is offering the visitor something of value
let the visitor know what you expect from him/her if they opt-in
make the form easy to see on the blog/ easily found
the top right or center of the page are the 2 best locations for an opt-in page
the form should be concise. Name/Email are enough, don’t seek too much info
list the reasons/advantages the visitor should opt-in/ what happens when they opt-in
don’t scam or manipulate your visitors
provide an ebook or report with information your visitor can use immediately
Many times people opt-into a person’s page only to discover the information they are providing is not anything relevant to what they are looking for. They also find that the person’s blog uses the email address to send out spam, or to pressure the visitor into upgrading to a new membership level. Although this may provide some upfront cash, it will only anger your visitor, and in turn they will not want to do business with you. Bad business spreads faster than gossip, so make sure you are practicing an honest business, be confident in the information you provide, and consider your audience and their needs first. Follow the tips and tricks, and you will be generating your own leads using a blog and opt-in page in no time!
